This document applies to Localyn, operated by Localyn LLC. Account creation is open to eligible adults age 18 or older in the states Localyn supports — not nationwide. Policies may be updated as Localyn changes.

A welcoming hometown

Localyn should feel like a place where neighbors can buy, sell, and gather with respect. These Community Standards explain the basics. They work together with the Terms of Service and other policies.

Localyn provides the platform; members remain responsible for their own words and actions. Localyn does not guarantee member behavior, and following these standards does not create a warranty or endorsement by Localyn.

What we expect

Please:

  • Be truthful in listings, Looking to Buy requests, events, profiles, and messages
  • Treat neighbors respectfully
  • Keep conversations civil
  • Follow the law
  • Help keep Localyn safe and welcoming

Firearms

Firearm listings are strictly prohibited on Localyn. See the Prohibited Items Policy for details and for other restricted categories.

Reviews and trust

Leave honest reviews only for marketplace interactions you actually had. Standard listings and Online Yard Sale transactions may become review-eligible under Localyn’s review rules — including when a seller completes an Online Yard Sale transaction with a specific buyer.

Do not buy, coerce, retaliate with, or incentivize dishonest reviews. Reviews contribute to Trust Summary signals; they are not guarantees.

What is not allowed

Do not:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others
  • Engage in hate-based abuse
  • Run scams or fraud
  • Spam or send unwanted commercial messages repeatedly
  • Impersonate people or businesses
  • Dox or post another person’s private information without permission
  • Exploit others or promote illegal activity
  • Manipulate trust systems, reviews, or reports
  • Promote unsafe events
  • Circumvent enforcement or create accounts to evade restrictions
  • Leave retaliatory reviews or file abusive reports

If something goes wrong

Use Report Listing, Report buyer request, or Report Member on the relevant page, email hello@golocalyn.com, or use Contact Us. Localyn may remove content or restrict accounts that break these standards. Localyn does not promise 24/7 monitoring or a particular outcome.
