Copyright complaint requirements

A useful copyright complaint should include, to the extent applicable:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  • Identification and location of the allegedly infringing material on Localyn
  • Your contact information
  • A good-faith statement that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Counter-notification

If your content was removed because of a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification that includes the elements required by applicable law.

Repeat-infringer policy

Localyn may terminate accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, consistent with applicable law and Localyn’s enforcement practices.

Knowingly false claims

Submitting a knowingly false copyright complaint or counter-notice can have legal consequences. Only submit notices you believe in good faith are accurate.
